The Commonwealth War Graves Commission Visitor Centre

The CWGC Visitor Centre is a unique interpretive center in the heart of the World War I battlefields.

In the heart of the World War I battlefields, The CWGC Visitor Centre is a unique interpretive center that takes the visitor behind the scenes of the work of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission (CWGC). This organization honors the memory of the men and women of the armed forces of the Commonwealth countries who died in the two world wars, and maintains their graves and memorials in over 150 countries and territories.

Artisans of Memory

The CWGC Visitor Centre highlights the work of the craftsmen by allowing visitors to see them at work in their woodworking, ironworking, and mechanical shops. Learn all about the steps involved in making steles in the world’s only production workshop, and find out more about the role of the CWGC in the discovery of soldiers’ bodies today.
